The first show of the year for Ladies, Please went over fairly well last night. We didn’t play too fast and filled almost all of our expected 45 minute set. We got the “you sound like so-and-so” response, which is better than no response! That night it was C Average… which I didn’t really even think about. It made sense when I did think about it.

Jane and I laughed about the use of segways between songs, and Pete was throwin down with the new subversive cult church. Expect more participation by me in the Circle Church™ in the near future. Aubrey finally used her fake ID to come out to the bars, I was stoked to see everyone out at the bar that night. The Cherry Valence ripped up everything, everywhere with sweet sweet riffin. Seriously, I am amazed by that band and their ability to mesh all of the parts together with such good rythm. I am a dunce for not scoring any albums.

I had amp problems earlier that day when we first started to jam. Some crackling on the low end, sure sign of a blown speaker. Sure enough, that was the culprit. I called up Malé at Zinky amps and got him to score me some blemished speakers. Bruce hooked me up with the good deal and I got them replaced 2 hours before the show. Hot shit. Thanks Bruce.

Did I forget to say how badass Friday night was? It was badass. All the bands were good, brought out way more people that I expected, (well over 200) and we made a bunch of moolah. I even got to pay The Ponies, since Bob and The Hesp drive up from Tucson. I need to open a business bank account and shit now. I should also get on the ball about the non-profit status shit. Anyone wanna write some grants for me?
